Frem on Expanding the Jounieh Highway: A Vital Step, Better Late Than Never

The Chairman of Project Watan’s Executive Board, MP Neemat Frem, posted on his X account: “After years of suspension, and following several political interventions at the time that sought to halt the project – despite the payment of expropriation compensations – the Jounieh Highway expansion project is back on track.”

He added: “All thanks to the new term and to the Minister of Public Works for following up on our urgent request to address a daily crisis affecting the people, and for reintroducing this project for implementation.”

He concluded: “Perhaps this solution is not ideal, as it comes nine years late, but it is a necessary step; better late than never!”
