Frem from Baabda Urges Implementation of Government’s Decision, Warns of Parliamentary Vacuum

MP Neemat Frem urged the implementation of the government’s decision and warned against a parliamentary vacuum following his meeting with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace.

He stated: “We discussed the gravity of the current situation and its repercussions on Lebanon’s future. We also emphasized the importance of the Cabinet’s decision, which we consider a historic and pivotal turning point.”

He added: “We also addressed the issue of the Lebanese Army Command and its performance over the past two days, particularly the need to translate what has been said into concrete action on the ground, as the world today is concerned only with actions.”

“In addition, we stressed the dangers of not extending Parliament’s mandate under these war conditions, and the catastrophic vacuum this could create within this key institution,” he continued. “From this standpoint, we proposed extending Parliament’s mandate, as was previously done during wars and extraordinary circumstances.”

Frem concluded: “We called on everyone to stand by those displaced from the South, as they are the victims of this war. They are not the ones who launched the rockets or took the decision that destroyed Lebanon’s credibility, undermined agreements, and ignited this war.”
