Frem: A Major and Firm State Stance Is Needed to Put an End to Any Rebellion

In light of the dangerous developments in Lebanon, MP Neemat Frem declared the following:

“What happened is unacceptable and unjustifiable under any pretext. It is a deliberate act that constitutes a fully-fledged crime, a blatant challenge to the state, and a disregard for the will of the Lebanese people. It is a rebellion against the Constitution and state institutions, and a coup against sovereignty and the Lebanese people’s right to have their interests safeguarded.

What is required immediately is a major and firm stance: that the state reclaim its decision-making authority from those who have placed Iran’s interests above Lebanon’s, affirm its exclusive monopoly over sovereignty, and put an end to any rebellion – now, before it is too late.

Before history, I say: through this act, they have provided the pretext for the invasion of South Lebanon – and perhaps its loss.”
